Camp Liberty First Responders Pheasant Hunt

Our Free Pheasant Hunt is available to First Responders to include: Police, Fire, and EMS personnel. All levels of physical ability are invited, adaptive equipment is available. Selection will be by a lottery process.

 TO APPLY: email the following information to Programs@CampLibertyMichigan.org

  1. Your Full Name and address.
  2. Phone Number.
  3. Email Address.
  4. Organization and Title.
  5. Years Served.
  6. The sessions you are available for (morning, afternoon, both).
  7. Are you interested in using any adaptive equipment such as a Trakchair?
  8. What equipment do you need to borrow to enjoy the hunt?
  9. Have you ever hunted at Camp Liberty before?
  10. Have you ever taken any game at Camp Liberty before? If so, what and when.

Applications must be received before February 29th.  Those selected will be notified by email on March 1st.  Alternates will also be selected in case someone cannot tend.  Applications via Facebook or Direct Messenger will not be accepted.  Please email Programs@CampLibertyMichigan.org if you have any questions.

Pheasant Hunt Details

There will be morning and afternoon session guided hunts.

Camp Liberty will provide:

  • Coffee and donuts for the morning hunters.
  • Three ringneck pheasants planted per hunter.
  • Experienced guides and bird dogs.
  • Safety orientation meeting.
  • Lessons on bird cleaning.
  • Lunch for all hunters and volunteers.
  • A warm fire and time to relax.

A few shotguns, game vests, and other equipment are available to lend to participants. Please let us know what you need.

Morning Schedule

8:30 a.m.                            Sign In, Coffee and Donuts
9:00 a.m.                            Safety Briefing
9:30 to 11:30 a.m.             Pheasant Hunting
Noon to 1:00 p.m.             Lunch and Bird Cleaning
1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.     Relax by the fire in the Lodge.

Afternoon Schedule

11:30 a.m.                           Sign In and Coffee
Noon to 1:00 p.m.             Lunch in the Lodge
1:00 p.m.                             Safety Briefing
1:30 to 3:30 p.m.               Pheasant Hunting
3:30 to 5:00 p.m.              Bird Cleaning and relaxing by the fire in the Lodge.
