Camp Liberty Inc. elects its initial board of directors, comprised of 12 people, all with experience in veterans affairs or charitable organizations. Officers were elected with Richard V. Briggs, Jr., President; Carol Ann Fausone, Vice President; and Allan Lutes, Treasurer; and Secretary. The board votes to approve contributing $100,000 towards a shared land use agreement and the development of the Lodge.

Allan Lutes and Rick Briggs locate land in Norvell Township and submit a purchase agreement in October, 2012. Camp Liberty Group LLC is created as the entity will own the land. They invest personal funds for the down payment, personally guarantee a mortgage, and close on the property on December 31, 2012.

Camp Liberty Inc is incorporated in the State of Michigan on June 22, 2012.
